Foundation & Slab

  • 2 Course foundation with 10"x 16" footing with 3000 psi concrete and 2 #5 (5/8") rebar continuous
  • Concrete slab consists of minimum 3-1/2" thick concrete, 3000 psi reinforced with 6"x 6" #10 wire mesh or Fiber-mesh, 6 mil visqueen vapor barrier over compacted fill
  • Garage and porches are stepped down a minimum of 4" from main living level

 

Masonry Walls

  • Block waIls are 8"x 8"x 16" concrete blocks
  • Lintel is a continuously poured 8"x 8" knock out lintel block poured with 3000 psi concrete reinforced with #5 (5/8") rebar running vertically from footer to lintel
  • Hurricane truss straps are set in concrete
  • 5/8"x 6" anchor bolts secure 2"x 6" pressure treated garage door jamb

 

Framing

  • Trusses are engineered for 24" on center construction
  • Interior walls are framed at 16" on center
  • Load bearing walls are set at 16" on center and with bottom plate bolted to the floor with hurricane straps connected from bottom plate to double top plate
